Russia January-February wheat exports and imports down on-year
Russian wheat exports totalled 1.155 million tonnes from January to February, down from 1.257 million tonnes during the same period last year, according to the Federal Customs Service (FTS).
However, the export value rose on-year to US$210.7 million during the first two months this year.
Wheat imports from January to February registered 69,500 tonnes worth US$9.5 million. The import volume dropped compared with 192,400 tonnes during the same period in 2006.
During the first two months this year, Russia's corn imports totalled 7,000 tonnes worth US$11.8 million.
From January to February, domestic grain import value fell to US$35.6 million from US$46.8 million during the same period last year.
