Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines trade event set for May 22-24

The premier trade event for the Philippine livestock, poultry, and aquaculture industries is scheduled to take place from May 22-24, 2024, at the World Trade Centre in Pasay city, south of Manila, The Manila Times reported.
Under the theme "Harnessing Innovation and Technology for Sustainable Farm Development," this year's Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines seeks to facilitate collaboration between the public and private sectors, foster business opportunities for manufacturers and suppliers, and promote knowledge sharing and expertise.
Rungphech Chitanuwat, the country general manager of Informa Markets in the Philippines, emphasised the significance of these industries in driving economic growth and job creation.
He highlighted the role of Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines in elevating production efficiency to contribute more substantially to economic development and poverty reduction.
The event is expected to draw over 250 exhibitors and attract more than 10,000 visitors, including participants from at least 30 countries.
Endorsed by the Department of Agriculture (DA), the trade show focuses on the importance of innovation and technology in enhancing agricultural production, improving profitability, and ensuring food sustainability.
Leading up to the event, provincial roadshows were conducted in Pampanga, Batangas, and Cebu, aiming to engage with local communities and provide educational seminars beneficial to stakeholders. The roadshow's aquaculture and swine sector's final leg in Pampanga is scheduled for May 8-9.
Livestock Philippines will also host its inaugural Asean Associations Roundtable, bringing together industry associations from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Supported by the DA, this roundtable encourages collaboration, knowledge exchange, and addressing industry challenges.
Additionally, a specialised forum on biosecurity will feature international speakers and local industry professionals, enhancing industry standards and practices.
