Proposal for 24,000-chicken farm near Llangollen, Wales, faces public opposition

A proposal for a 24,000-capacity chicken farm near Llangollen, Wales, is facing a petition against its establishment.

Supported by thousands of people, the petition has received over 64,000 signatures as Wrexham Council has been called on to take action.

The owners of Cae Mor Farm in Pontfadog were previously granted permission for a unit housing 16,000 hens on appeal in 2017.

The owners now seek to expand their business by setting up four new buildings, which will house 6,000 chickens each.
