The availability of hog shrank prominently, dragging weekly pork carcass volumes lower by over 4% to 8,096 tonnes. This helped hog prices, which have plummeted 23% in a matter of five weeks, to consolidate higher. Hog prices rebounded by 3.6%. This was, however, 30% below mid-January's high for the year.
