Domyfeed opens multi-million aquatic feed plant in Vietnam


Domyfeed Co. Ltd has started operation of the VND100 billion- (US$5.26 million) aquatic feed plant in the Mekong Delta Dong Thap province, the state-run Vietnam news agency said Friday (Apr 9).


Covering 40,000 sq metres in Sa Dec town, the plant has an annual capacity of processing 90,000 tonnes of aquatic feed products. It is scheduled for operation in December this year.
Domyfeed is a joint venture between Dong Thap Trading Corporation (Docimexco), Hoan My JSC and Vinh Long Food Co.
The Sa Dec Industrial Zone (IZ) in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has to date had all of its 132-hectare area leased with 43 projects totalling US$178.5 million. Of the projects, which focus on seafood and aquaculture feed processing, 24 projects have become operational. The Mekong Delta province currently employs 7,336 workers and posts VND2 trillion (US$121.2 million) in revenue with a combined output of over 2 million tonnes.
