Pakistan To Set Up Laboratory For Poultry Industry
 

The Pakistan Government will set-up laboratory for poultry research at a cost of Rs.30 million. Head of Animal Science Division Research Poultry Industry in Ministry of Food and Agricultural Dr. Afzal said.

 

The laboratory will provide all information to poultry farmers to control chicken disease. He said, another project to cost 0.4 million dollars will also be initiated to facilitate the poultry industry in the country. To a question, he said rumors about bird flu have badly affected the poultry business.

 

He said the industry has come out from the crises as prices of poultry have risen as expected. Poultry industry has incurred loss worth billions due to bird flu rumors in the country, he added. He said, while the realty is that only one case of bird flu was reported in Karachi which was not harmful for human body. When asked if WTO regime will effect the poultry industry, he said "It will not create any problems for poultry industry."
