Value of Russian agricultural products rose 21% in 2021
Russia's exports of agricultural products totaled $37.1 billion in value in 2021, 21% more than in 2020.
Last year, the country supplied more than 71 million tonnes of food and agricultural raw materials to markets outside Russia.
All major food product groups demonstrated growth. The value of grain exports increased by 12%, oil and fats by 48%, fish and seafood by 25%, meat products by 32%, dairy products by 30%, food and processing industry products by 15% and other products by 12%.
In 2021, more than 160 countries became importers of agricultural products from Russia.
Turkey, which increased its purchases by 38% to $4.3billion, held the top spot among the biggest purchasers. China fell to the second position, as its imports of Russian agricultural products dropped by 12% to $3.6 billion.
Kazakhstan, South Korea and Belarus were among the top five buyers of Russian agricultural products.
