Thailand's entrepreneurs hopes to profit from mixed-gender prawns
A team of entrepreneurs in Thailand believe they may have found the answer as to how Thailand can regain the top spot as the region's top shrimp exporter: mixed gender prawns.
The entrepreneurs believe farmers could make more profits if the smaller, less profitable females from the gene pool were eliminated and replaced with mixed-gender prawns,
The team developed the product while attending university and working part-time and recently won the first prize at this year's Asian Moot Corp business plan competition.
The team is currently heading to the US state of Oregon for the New Venture Championship but whether the venture would be cmmericialised remains to be seen.
