Biomin moves North American headquarters to Kansas, US
Biomin America Inc., will establish a new headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas, US, after moving its regional office from San Antonio, Texas, Kanasa City Business Journal reported.
The company will be joined by its parent, Austrian agricultural holding company Erber Group, in establishing a hub in the metro. Erber's five divisions focus on natural food additives and feed analysis. Its holdings maintain locations in 120 countries, including seven regional headquarters.
According to Biomin's regional marketing officer Melissa Kirchner, the company hired 10 new employees for its Overland Park office. It was moved to the city to bring it closer to another of Erber's US holdings, Delaware-based Romer Labs. The move will also bring Biomin closer to its customers, as it develops additives for poultry, swine and cattle to reduce antibiotic use and prevent harmful mold and fungi in feed.
In addition, Biomin will tap into Kansas City's pool of animal health talent.
"The abundance of qualified workforce, coupled with ease of travel for global employees, made Kansas City the right choice for our new North American presence," Simon Walley, president of Biomin North America, said in a release.
The company will lease space in Corporate Woods at 10801 Mastin Blvd. The Kansas Department of Commerce and Overland Park Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Council worked to help Biomin relocate, with support from the KC Animal Health Corridor.
"We're just really, really excited to have them in the corridor and happy they selected Kansas City," Animal Health Corridor President Kimberly Young said in an interview. "We want to support their long-term growth in the region."
