Vietnam's January-February pangasius fish export up 18.6%
In the first two months of this year, Vietnam earned US$264.4 million from exporting pangasius fish, rising 18.6% from the same period last year, said the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
In February, the local companies earned US$148.3 million from shipping abroad pangasius fish products, up 75% on year, the VASEP said.
The EU was the leading importer of Vietnamese pangasius fish with value of US$68.9 million in January-February, down 10.9% on year, followed by the US with value US$46.6 million, rising 50.4% on year.
During the period, the Vietnamese export of pangasius fish to Spain jumped 118% on year to US$14.65 million.
Vietnamese pangasius fish exports to Mexico and Brazil also increased to US$27.6 million and US$12.5 million, respectively.
