During the financial year 2012-13 export to Iran registered exceptional growth. Partially, export of soymeal suffered during second quarter due to poor availability of soy and corresponding lower crushing.

Interestingly, details of country-wise/port-wise export of soymeal, as prepared by Soy Processors' Association of India (SOPA) show that there has been a rise in soymeal exports by 9.68% during the period April-June during the last fiscal. The export to the tune of 655,868 tonnes took place during the period, as against the mark of 597,971 tonnes during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
The data has been collected and compiled by SOPA based on the information received from members, port authorities and other agencies. The data does not include exports to Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh by rail or road.
