India's March soymeal exports up 13%

The industry data reported India's soymeal exports grew by 13% to 4.61 lakh tonnes in March against 4.09 lakh tonnes in the same month last year.

However, exports declined by 7% during the first six months of 2011-12 oil year (October-September) at 27.85 lakh tonnes against 29.97 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of previous oil year, according to data compiled by the Indore-based Soy Processors Association of India.

Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and Indonesia are the major importers of Indian soymeal.
