Russia's January-February poultry imports show decrease
Russia imported in January and February 31,800 tonnes of poultry compared with 92,000 tonnes in the same two months of 2009, the federal customs service reported Thursday (Apr 8).
The poultry imported in January and February was worth US$42.7 million.
The fall is mostly due to a Russian ban on poultry imports from the US because they are treated with chlorine, which is against Russian health regulations.
