Hong Kong halts poultry imports from South Korea on bird flu reports

Hong Kong's Centre for Food Safety (CFS) announced Monday that the import of poultry and poultry products from South Korea would be suspended immediately due to bird flu outbreak.

The decision was taken after the confirmation of bird flu in Cholla-Bukdo, a CFS spokesman said.

Last year, Hong Kong imported about 24 tonnes of frozen poultry products from the South Korea.
