UK's Three-Sixty Aquaculture marks first international expansion with new indoor shrimp farm in Belgium

Three-Sixty Aquaculture, a Swansea, Wales, the United Kingdom-based aquaculture company producing sushi-grade shrimp, backed by renowned British chef, Marcus Wareing, has announced its first international expansion with the development of a new indoor shrimp farm in Oostende, Belgium.

The project is being delivered in collaboration with Belgian incubator Marifish.Inc, which supports emerging businesses in the fisheries and aquaculture sector. The company said the expansion represents a major milestone as it scales its UK-developed technology and responds to growing demand for responsibly produced seafood across Europe.

The new site will use Three-Sixty Aquaculture's proprietary clearwater recirculating aquaculture system (RAS), designed and trialed in Swansea. With council approvals secured, installation is currently underway and the first harvest is expected in late summer.

The Oostende facility will produce fresh, premium srhimp supplied head-on and shell-on, targeting retailers and wholesalers across Europe. The company stated that the facility will offer a local alternative to long-haul imports.

Three-Sixty Aquaculture has also confirmed a new partnership with the Flemish Fish Auction, one of Belgium’s seafood distribution hubs. The company said the collaboration will provide access to major European buyers and create new commercial routes for its locally grown ahrimp.

"Taking our UK‑developed technology into mainland Europe is a pivotal moment for business," said James Fox‑Davies, chief executive officer of Three‑Sixty Aquaculture. "This expansion proves that British aquaculture innovation can scale internationally, delivering fresher, more sustainable seafood. Our partnership with the Flemish Fish Auction gives us a strong commercial platform across Europe and reinforces the credibility of the systems we've built here in Swansea."
