Japan Declare Kyoto Farms Free Of Bird Flu
Japanese authorities have declared on Wednesday that two farms in Kyoto Prefecture and their vicinity are now free of the highly pathogenic bird flu virus and gave the green light to lifting restrictions on the movement of chickens and eggs there at midnight next Monday if no new infections arise.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries panel also agreed to revise the government's epidemic prevention manual to heighten monitoring of farms by prefectural authorities, panel members said.
