Cherkizovo joins discussion concerning development of agricultural exports in Moscow Region, Russia
Cherkizovo Group recently participated in a meeting on agricultural export development in the Moscow Region, Russia.
Chaired by Sergey Voskresensky, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region, the meeting was held at the Slavtrans-Service warehouse facilities.
The event was attended by representatives of Slavtrans-Service, Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), Russian Export Centre and Russian Railways, as well as large agricultural exporters like Cherkizovo Group, Stupinskaya Niva, Miratorg, Mars, Moscow Brewing Company and Dmitrov Dairy Plant.
"In 2020, the agricultural exports of the Moscow Region grew by 20% (year-on-year), reaching approximately US$1.2 billion. Thanks to top quality and competitive prices, products made in the Moscow Region are in high demand in foreign markets, which contributes to a stable growth in supplies," said Voskresensky.
Andrey Terekhin, head of industry unions and government relations at Cherkizovo, spoke about expanding sales of Russian meat products to China. According to Terekhin, Russian companies have significantly strengthened their positions with exports of poultry to China intended for further processing.
However, Russian-made finished products still have no access to the Chinese market.
Terekhin also pointed out that Cherkizovo developed a set of preventive measures that were rolled out at the Slavtrans-Service warehouse facilities which are handling most of the group's products to be exported to China. The aim is to ensure that all export documents are issued based on strict laboratory control procedures performed both internally and externally by Rosselkhoznadzor experts.
