China cracks down on clenbuterol use in livestock
China will be cracking down on the use of clenbuterol in animals with the launch of a three-month special rectification action to further strengthen the supervision of the ß-agonist and guarantee the quality and safety of livestock products.
The action was revealed in a notice published last month by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The government has called on the relevant authorities to conduct unannounced inspections and test for the substance in the country's livestock and meat supply.
