Alltech and KVAFSU in partnership to improve India milk production

Global animal health company, Alltech, and Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) have launched the KVAFSU - Alltech Nutrition Research Alliance programme which will focus on seeking strategies to improve the efficiency of milk production and meet the demands of India's population.

"India is one of our top markets globally, and the research alliance with KVAFSU demonstrates Alltech's commitment to the industry in India and furthermore in the Asia-Pacific region," said Matthew Smith, director of Alltech Asia-Pacific.

The research alliance will address emerging challenges on specific key areas. Some of the programmes include a study on a new laboratory technique that will allow rapid screening of various specialised feed additives and ingredients.

"The research alliance will contribute to this noble cause of creating a sustainable livestock production in India and, at the same time, to strengthen livelihood security of rural farmers," commented Dr. Hemantkumar Pandey, research specialist at Alltech India.
