Danone-Unimilk to infuse US$700 million in production capacities


Within the next 5-7 years, Danone-Unimilk Group will invest about US$700 million in production capacities, said Yves Legros, CEO of Danone-Unimilk Group in Russia.


Danone-Unimilk Group is the largest manufacturer of dairy products in Russia. Today, the Group operates about 30 dairy plants producing goods selling under the brands Danone, Activia, Actimel, Rastishka, Danissimo, Prostokvashino, Biobalance, Actual, Smeshariki, Tyoma and other brands.


Unimilk Group is part of the international company Danone whose units are located in 120 countries on five continents. Danone owns 184 production centres and employs over 100,000 people.


In June 2010, Unimilk and Danone informed about the conclusion of an agreement for the merger of the dairy business in Russia and the CIS. The deal closed in November 2011.
