A recent USDA survey says that farmers will plant an estimated 81.5 million acres of soy in 2014, up 6% on-year and set to become an all-time high.
The previous record was set in 2009, when US planted 77.5 million acres of soy.
Meanwhile, planning acreage for corn is estimated to be smaller this year. Nationwide, growers intend to plant about 91 million acres, down 4% from last year.
Planted area of Wheat is estimated at 55.8 million acres for 2014, down 1% on–year.
