Kuwait bans fish imports from Pakistan

Due to grounds on health issues, Kuwait has put an indefinite ban on all fish imports from Pakistan.

However sources concerned with hygienic arrangement at fish port however denied any lapse on health conditions and added there seems something more than what it meets the eye as the ban has not only put on Pakistan but the similar ban has also been put on import of seafood from Iran which seems a likely fall out effect of international pressures as well as sanctions on Iran.

The fish importers from Kuwait however have expressed their concern regarding fish from Pakistan may contain bacteria that cause cholera.

Pakistan is a major seafood exporter in the region and so far there was no such complain from other buyers in the region.
