Ukraine grain exports to reach 1.4 million tonnes

In March 2010, grain exports from Ukraine will total nearly 1.4 million tonnes, an increase of 0.3 million tonnes compared to the same index of February 2010, according to the Ukrainian agrarian confederation.

Several large-scale participants of the grain market decided to continue grain purchasing operations and grain exports, despite rather large debts of the government in the sphere of the VAT repayment and expensive crediting of such receivable account, said Sergey Stoyanov, the general director of Ukrainian agrarian confederation. Such companies rely on the further regulation of the VAT problem on the governmental level.

According to the minister, Nikolaev sea port (nearly 600,000 tonnes) and Odessa transport node (nearly 800,000 tonnes) provided the majority of grain exports in the March.
