China Tryptophan: Market under pressure (week ended Mar 27, 2023)

Sales of tryptophan were slow amid weakened feed demand. Producers who were eager to move sales cut prices further.

Over the week, export prices of tryptophan dipped to US$8/kg.

Transacted prices of local products decreased to the range of RMB55.20-61/kg while those of imported products remained at RMB65/kg.

Demand for tryptophan is set to stay soft while feed consumption slows. Tryptophan market will be under pressure despite limited supplies.
