China Choline Chloride: Decreased hog feed demand hampers sales (week ended Mar 27, 2023)

Sluggish hog feed demand, resulting from the recent disease outbreak, hampered the sales of choline chloride. Producers who were keen to move sales cut prices, albeit marginally, over the week.

Export prices of 50% choline chloride and 60% products fell to US$0.60/kg and US$0.65/kg respectively while those of 70-75% liquid products dropped to US$0.75/kg.

In China, transacted prices of 50% choline chloride were soft in RMB4.14-4.60/kg and those of 60% choline chloride dipped to RMB4.49/kg. Prices of 70%-75% liquid products decreased to RMB5.13/kg.

Sales of choline chloride are unlikely to be strong as hog feed consumption is limited. Choline chloride producers will hold down prices in a bid to entice buyers.
