EU approves 210,000 tonnes soft wheat exports

Export licenses for 210,000 tonnes of soft wheat has been granted by the EU this week, taking the total since the beginning of the 2011/12 (July-June) season to 10.5 million tonnes, official data showed on Thursday (Mar 29).

The total so far this season compared with 15.4 million tonnes of export licences cleared by the same stage in 2010/11.

                
The EU also granted this week licences to export 47,000 tonnes of corn, bringing the total this season to 2.3 million tonnes 853,000 tonnes at the same stage last season, the data showed.
