Ukraine to export 4-8 million tonnes wheat by next marketing year

Ukraine wheat exports may reach the level of 4-8 million tonnes by next marketing year (July 2012-June 2013), declared Mykola Bezugly, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, on March 28, according to APK-Inform.

Agrarians will increase the proportion of grain corn and barley exports. The volume of wheat exports next marketing year will be significantly less, they may be limited depending on the pessimistic or optimistic variant from 4-5 to 8 million tonnes, he said. As a reminder, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reduced the forecast of grain exports from Ukraine in the current marketing year (July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012) to 20-21 million tonnes.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food forecasts the grain harvest at the level of 42-50 million tonnes in the current year, depending on weather conditions.
