Ukraine's Bershad poultry experiences steep drop in profits
The Bershad poultry factory's 2006 net profit fell by UAH 4.22 million (US$844,000) to UAH 2.308 million (US$460,000), according to Ukrainian News.
As of January 1, 2007, the assets of the company, based in the Bershad district, Vinnytsia region were valued at UAH 38.752 million (US$7.7 million).
In 2006, the poultry factory increased production by 70 percent over 2005. At the same time meat production was also increased by 70 percent to 7,007 tonnes.
The Bershad poultry factory ended 2005 with a net profit of UAH 6.533 million, having increased the production by 275.6 percent compared to 2004.
The company is an opened joint stock company, founded in 1976. It specializes in growing and processing broiler.
