Vietnam Q1 wheat imports increased 41.3% to US$258 million
Vietnam spent an estimated US$258 million on importing 876,000 tonnes of wheat during January to March, an on-year increase of 41.3% in value and 56.9% in volume, the General Statistics Office said.
In March, the country is likely to import 350,000 tons worth US$100 million compared to 238,000 tons worth US$68 million in February.
The Southeast Asian country imported 2.394 million tonnes of wheat worth US$802 million in 2011.
