Russia establishes a new association for grain exporters
The national association of agricultural products exporters from Russia has declared its own foundation.
The organisation intends to support grain exports from Russia and eradicate the dominion of the Russian Grain Union, according to the International law group, AstapovLawyers.
According to Andrey Astapov, Managing Partner of AstapovLawyers and Head of the Dispute Resolution, the discrediting of the Russian Grain Union comes from market players who distrust the ability of the union to look after their interests and achieve positive results.
The establishment of the organisation is a milestone event, because various important market players increased their own social activities devoted to lobbying for the immediate termination of the export embargo for grains when it was enforced by the Russian Federation.
Astapov also noted that the founders of the association plan to oppose the export embargo imposed by the government. The companies are prepaying to provide IPOs and they need to show that they are actively fighting for the termination of the embargo. According to him, the new organisation will probably have more active position in dialogue with the authorities as compared to the Russian Grain Union.
