Vietnam Dairy Association formed

The Vietnam Dairy Association (VDA) was established in Ho Chi Minh City on March 25.

The VDA consists of 67 member enterprises from the industry ranging from milk-processing manufacturers, co-operatives and dairy cow farms, academies and universities that do research over dairy cow breeding, and some foreign-invested milk processing and producing companies in Vietnam.

The association serves as a link to help its members boost scientific and technological know-how and trade exchanges with their partners at home and abroad. It will also help raise its members' production and trade capacity so that they can manufacture high quality milk products for the domestic and export markets.

Its Executive Board for the 2010 - 2015 tenure include nine members led by Mai Kieu Lien, President and CEO of the Vietnam Milk Company (Vinamilk).
