Egypt sees likely more Ukrainian grain imports
Egypt does not exclude the possibility of bigger grain imports from Ukraine, stated Egypt's Ambassador to Ukraine, Yasser Atef.
"I think namely in the trading in grain. There always is space for growth, because Ukraine is a producer of grain and Egypt is a consumer," he said when asked whether Egypt needs to larger grain supplies from Ukraine.
He said there are opportunities to boost exports of farm produce from Ukraine to Egypt and from Egypt to Ukraine.
"I think we have prospects for boosting mutual exports, i.e. farm produce from Egypt and farm produce from Ukraine to Egypt," said the Ambassador.
He said price is an important factor on the grain market.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov of Ukraine on November 25, 2010, said grain exports to Egypt might grow.
Egypt has more than once announced its intention to expand the spectrum of imports of Ukrainian farm produce.
