DuPont opens new plant in China's Shenzhen
DuPont Animal Health Solutions (DAHS), a division of the DuPont Group, has opened a new plant in southern China.
The US-based company held a ceremony on Wednesday (Mar 26) to mark the official opening of the plant in Shenzhen, a booming economic zone located in Guangdong province.
This plant, the first of its kind to be built by DAHS in China and the Asia-Pacific region, will initially specialize in the production of Virkon, a disinfectant that is known to work well against livestock and poultry diseases such as Classical Swine Fever and Newcastle.
Other than Virkon, DAHS also has plans to expand production at its Shenzhen plant to include other animal health products in the future.
To date, DuPont's total investment in China had surpassed the US$800-million mark. The company presently employs more than 6,000 workers in China.
