Cautious mood holds China lysine market weak
Lysine prices were stable to lower during the week ending March 25.
Feed producers were not keen to accumulate stocks, preferring to purchase as and when required. Although hog prices surged lately, weak feed demand, resulting from low animal inventories, continued to dampen feed producers' confidence in the market.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine softened to the range of RMB7.20-7.70/kg.
Lysine producers will be tempted to lift prices while limiting output. However, feed producers will stay cautious with hog population limited.
