Soy Canada, a new national trade association that represents the country's soybean industry, had visited Japan recently and engaged with representatives of the local soybean end-user sectors, BlackburnNews.com reported.
According to the association, the trip marked its first overseas trade mission and fulfilled all its objectives.
In addition, Soy Canada is accepted as the main point of contact between the Japanese and Canadian soybean sectors, according to the association's executive director, Jim Everson.
Soy Canada's chairman, Mark Huston, also emphasised on the need for improved relations in order to promote market growth.
While the use of Japanese soy has recently suffered a decline, it is still a favoured product, Soy Canada's officials said.
