Belarus Looking To Buy 200,000 MT Feed Grain

Belarus is to hold a tender for the supply of 200,000 metric tons of feed grain on the international market, according to the government press service Thursday.

Belarus needs the supplies before the end of May.

The move is comes against the backdrop of the country's drive to increase its cattle and poultry production, while experiencing shortages of feed grain due to a smaller then expected harvest in 2003.

Belarus harvested about 5.9 million tons in 2003, compared with 6.5 million tons in 2002 as crops were damaged by bad weather.
