Rains expected in Argentina's central and eastern farm zones
The Buenos Aires grains exchange said Argentina's central and eastern farm zones could see abundant rains with the risk of storms, hail and strong winds over the coming days, Reuters reported.
Argentina is expected to begin its 2021/22 soybean harvest and is at the beginning stages of the corn harvest after both crops were affected by drought.
Argentina is the biggest exporter of processed soy and the second-largest exporter of corn in the world.
The grains exchange projects the soy harvest to reach 42 million tonnes and the one for corn at 51 million tonnes, after slashing its outlook for both crops in early-2022 because of the drought.
Grains prices are rising worldwide because of supply concerns due to Russia's invasion into Ukraine.
