France's 2011 dairy product sales up 2.5% on year
Euromonitor said that France's sales of dairy products such as yoghurt and fresh cheese edged up 2.5% on-year to EUR5 billion (US$6.6 billion) in 2011.
The sales in the segment represented 8% of the total food sales, according to the sector organisation of fresh dairy products makers Syndifrais.
However, the sales stagnated in terms of volumes. Despite that, France remains the leader in terms of consumption of fresh dairy products, ahead of Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the USA.
