Vietnam and Netherlands firms forge aquaculture cooperation

Vietnam's Quan Minh Co Ltd and the Netherlands' De Heus Co Ltd inked a comprehensive collaboration pact in Quang Ninh province on March 20, signalling a significant advancement in Vietnam's aquaculture sector, Vietnam Plus reported.

The agreement outlines joint efforts to explore and develop aquaculture models, spanning the cultivation and production of various aquatic species, alongside the processing and trading of aquatic products.

Furthermore, the partnership aims to cultivate high-yield, high-quality aquatic species, with a target annual production capacity of 5-6 billion molluscs. Both entities will explore domestic and international markets for product consumption and seek investment to bolster farm development, aquaculture enterprises, and distribution networks.

The collaboration seeks to establish an integrated seafood production and export chain in Quang Ninh, with Quan Minh serving as a pivotal link, connecting with affiliated firms and cooperatives in Van Don. Together, they are spearheading the development of a large-scale aquaculture operation spanning 2,000 hectares across Van Yen, Quan Lan, and Minh Chau communes.

De Heus Co Ltd., a subsidiary of the De Heus Group, brings extensive expertise in animal feed production to the partnership. Established in Vietnam in late 2008, the company operates nine factories and a nationwide distribution network, specialising in providing high-quality feed for livestock, poultry, and fisheries.
