Ukraine resumes corn export to Iran despite sanctions
Despite international sanctions against the Middle Eastern state that have disrupted financial transactions, Ukraine has resumed corn export to Iran with a shipment of 30,000 tonnes made on March 13.
Ukraine last shipped corn to Iran in November last year but halted sales when payment problems arose. "The suspension of shipments was likely to be caused by international sanctions as other countries in the region were continuing corn purchases without any pauses," Mykola Vernytsky from the ProAgro consultancy said.
