Vietnam Unveil US$1.2 Million Budget For Aquaculture Monitoring
Vietnam's Ministry of Fisheries has will spend up to VND19 billion (US$1.2 million) on monitoring the quality of seafood exports.
According to a statement by the Minister of Fisheries, the investment will be spent on improving the capacity of the Quality Inspection Seafood Hygiene Department.
Seafood quality will be closely monitored at the breeding phase, it said.
The move is seen as the ministry's reaction to technical barriers regarding hygiene, seafood and antibiotic residues raised by the EU, Japan and US markets.
