Cambodia signs agreement to boost agricultural raw material purchases
Cham Nimul, Cambodia's Minister of Commerce, presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation to promote the purchase of corn, cassava, and other raw materials. The agreement was signed between the ministry and six animal feed production companies.
The six companies involved in the agreement are M's Pig ACMC (Cambodia), Betagro (Cambodia) Company Limited, Agri-Master Co Ltd, De Heus TMH Co Ltd, ANT FEED Co Ltd, and CJ CheilJedang Feed (Cambodia) Co Ltd.
Under the MoU, the ministry will coordinate with these companies to facilitate the purchase of 189,000 tonnes of corn, 81,600 tonnes of cassava, 51,130 tonnes of broken rice, and 57,730 tonnes of rice husks.
The signing of this agreement highlights efforts to promote investment in local agricultural processing, increase product value, and strengthen the agricultural value chain. Cambodia is currently facing rising animal feed costs, and the agreement aligns with business opportunities in the development of the agro-commercial sector while supporting an inclusive socio-economic environment.
