Qatar company seeks partner for US$500 million Philippines' dairy venture

Major Qatar dairy company Baladna is seeking local partners to establish a US$500 million, 5,000-hectare integrated dairy facility in the Philippines, Vigour Times reported.

The business opportunity was posted by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), adding that Baladna was looking for partners for four other ventures: Safe Innovation Hub and Mariculture Park in Sual, Pangasinan; General Santos City Agro-Industrial Hub; Cotabato Agro-Industrial Park; and South Cotabato Integrated Food Terminal.

Baladna is the biggest locally owned food and dairy producer in Qatar, supplying more than 95% of the country's dairy requirements.

The integrated dairy production project was first made public after Baladna signed a partnership with the Philippines' Departments of Agriculture (DA) and Trade and Industry (DTI) in February 2022.

The US$500 million dairy facility is expected to create 2,000 new jobs during the first phase of its first full year of operations and boost regional milk production by 120 million litres annually.
