European Commissioner satisfied with support concerning aid for private storage of pigmeat

European Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski has expressed his satisfaction with the support received from several EU member states regarding the granting of aid for the private storage of pigmeat.

Wojciechowski tweeted that he appreciates "the support of member states in our action to deploy market support measure - aid for private storage for the pigmeat sector which is facing great difficulties."

The European Commission has published the draft regulation for the aid and fixing the amount of aid in advance.

This point also appears in the commission's unofficial document published on March 13, and in the Parliament's Motion for a Resolution dated March 16 on the need for an urgent EU action plan on measures to address the market situation and food security considerations following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
