EU-UK total grain crops to be 305.6 million tonnes this year

In its second forecast for 2022 crops, COCERAL, the European Association representing trade in cereals, rice, feedstuffs, oilseeds, olive oil, oils and fats, and agrosupply, sees the total grain crops in the European Union and United Kingdom at 305.6 million tonnes.

This would be up from the 304.5 million tonnes forecast in December, but slightly down from the 307.3 million tonnes harvested in 2021.

Wheat production (excluding durum) is expected at 141.3 million tonnes, up from the 139.8 million tonnes in the previous forecast but down from last year's 143.2 million tonnes.

Corn crop is now seen at 67.3 million tonnes (previous forecast was 66.4 million tonnes while 2021 was 67.2 million tonnes), with a much higher crop in Hungary, but slightly lower crops in Poland, Germany, France and Romania.
