Japan's January corn feed usage drops

 

 

The usage of corn in animal feed in Japan fell to 48.6% in January, compared with 48.8% a year earlier, preliminary data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries showed on Thursday.

 

Based on preliminary data from the farm ministry, the following are Japan's compound feed shipments in tonnes. Total shipments in January 2020 is 1,998,091; for December 2019 is 2,228,651; and January 2019 is 1,961,033.

 

The main ingredients in the shipments-with each grain's percentage share in feed production for January 2020, December 2019 and January 2019, respectively-are: corn (48.6%, 47.7%, 48.8%); sorghum (1.7%, 1.7%, 2%); wheat (1.5%, 1.5%, 1.7%); and barley (3.4%, 3.4%, 3.4%).
