Ukraine's 2012 grain, leguminous crops to decline

In 2012, Ukraine's total grains and leguminous yield will be drastically lower compared with 2011 results, stated Anatoliy Prokopenko, Ukraine's Deputy Head of the Hydrometeorological Center.

According to him, grain production volumes will form the level of 40-42 million tonnes. The average grain yield will also be below the average indices in recent years.

A.Prokopenko also noted that, according to meteorological data, agrarians will resow winter crops throughout the areas of 4.4 million ha.

At the same time, the expert noted that the role of early spring crops will be insignificant, because agrarians will sow the crops throughout nearly 3.5 million ha.
