China lysine prices stabilise as buyers limit buying

Lysine prices were unchanged during the week ending March 20.

Lower production allowed producers of lysine to stand firm amid high corn costs. However, with soymeal prices falling and the hog market showing little improvement, feed producers withheld buying, hence putting a lid on prices.

Price quotes of 70-percent lysine were in the range of RMB4.60-4.80/kg.

Lysine producers will be tempted to lift prices while limiting output.

RMB1=US$0.1581 (Mar 20)
