Ukraine's 2012 winter crop losses may reach two million ha

 

 

In 2012, Ukraine's general losses of winter crop plantings will reach about two million ha, declared Rodion Rybchinskiy, Head of the analytical department of APK-Inform, according to data of APK-Inform Agency.

 

According to him, Ukraine expects for the record harvesting areas under clean fallow in the spring - to 2.4 million ha.

 

R. Rybchinskiy forecasted that the general grain harvest in Ukraine in 2011/12 MY will total 56.6 million tonnes. He also noted that by the end of the season Ukraine will have rather large ending stocks of grains - 14.5 million tonnes, including nearly eight million tonnes of wheat, nearly 1.5 million tonnes of barley, 4.7 million tonnes of corn.

 

As a reminder, APK-Inform Agency together with the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine are the organisers of the round table discussion on March 16, 2012, in Dnipropetrovsk (hotel "Reikartz"). The number of participants totals over 50 delegates.
