AquaGen ensures regular operations amid COVID-19 pandemic

Norwegian fish breeder AquaGen said it has introduced measures to ensure daily operations including egg delivery amid the COVID-19 pandemic, adding it has established a task force, with operational continuity as its special focus.

The measures taken to prevent infection among staff and to ensure that production and delivery capacity is maintained as normally as possible, both in the short and long term, include:

-- Division of operational critical personnel into separate working groups at our production departments;

-- Meeting and travel bans between work teams and facilities;

-- General travel restrictions for all employees;

-- No access for visitors unless required for operation;

-- Strict hygiene practices to prevent infection; and

-- Report suspicion of illness.

To reduce the risk of infection between persons during egg deliveries, the AquaGen instituted the following measures:

-- No physical contact between deliverer (AquaGen) and receiver (customer);

-- Egg boxes are placed at designated locations outside the customer's production facility; and

-- Extra focus on hand hygiene and the use of disposable gloves when handling packaging and eggs.

The company said that in the event of any changes in the supply situation, it would notify customers as soon as possible.
